grassmonkeys System Failure! Help needed..? - grassmonkeys My computer started switching itself off last night, then restarting with the sytem failure messege. " Your sytem has recovered from a system failure" I think the power supply might be failing. Anyways when my sytem restarted all my files from My documents were gone also all desktop shortcuts. IUs there anyway to get my files back from My Docs? Thanks in advance.
Best Answer: you can recover deleted files. download this tool..its called Recuva. http://www.recuva.com/ then when you have got your files back go to here and do a full service scan... http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm?s_cid=sah/?s_cid=sah good luck... - arfenundred
firstly, a power supply problem would not alter anything from your desktop, you just wouldnt be able to boot or you would get restarts etc. what happens If you press ctrl+del +alt bring up task manager > file > new task > type in: explorer.exe (if that doesnt work try typing in %WinDir%\EXPLORER.EXE ) Put in additional detail what happens This sounds like a typical virus to me. - maria t
