merc I have the product key for Widows Vista on my NB. Can I reinstall Vista on that NB using that Product Key? - merc I have a HP Notebook which comes with a Vista Home Premium Product Key. I don't have the actual Windows CD, but I am curious if I can just take someone elses Windows CD to do a clean install and use my Product Key....
Best Answer: yes you can do this, You will have a problem if its not a purchased disk (ie a disk that came with a gateway computer wont work) or a upgrade disk. if you do it make sure that the vista disk is a home premium otherwise your key wont work. Some times when you turn on your computer you can restore it by pushing f11 or something and it will reinstall windows from a partition on your harddrive. - Max Power
