explaining limewire to parents.? - whatapwrtrip its so frustrating. they don't really know anything about it, and think that i am doing someone "wrong" and "illegal". (which it is) and i almost had to print out a book of information from the net so they wouldn't flip a sh** . so many arguments...ugh... am i the only one???

Best Answer: nope, its just the generation gap. I do it all the time and my parents scream their lungs out just to tell me that its illegal. and when I try to teach them then i feel like their brain is in Hibernated mode...cant take any additional information - dafunniguy

it is illegal but it is a bare share network so it is almost impossibly to trace to your house. lime wire gives you virus try Aries.com their free network is just like lime wire has same data base but no viruses i have been using it for years i even get movies that still in the theaters. - nonny

they say it is, but i was always under the impression that it was only illegal to reproduce copyrighted material with the intent to make a profit (ie. burning a copy of a cd and selling it) however, i think the real crime is the music industry pumping out so many poor acts like soulja boy and expecting us to pay $13 for an album that youll only listen to one song on. and THEN complaining that were not paying them what they deserve when they cheapskate as many artists as hard and as fast as they can. tell that to your parents and theyll give you an a+ for independent thinking - Brandon

Yeah it is illegal. And no you're not the only one. my friends use limewire too i don't though, after i heard about this family who had to pay a lot of money to the police because their 12 year old daughter use limewire. - |Absolutism| vs. |Relativism|
