Best Answer: In Vista go to "Control Panel/Regional and Language Settings" and select the keyboard language Tab to choose language to suit your keyboard. I think its "Control Panel/ Regional Settings" in XP. - Your Dad!
Pressing the Control key and the Shift key at the time will change the layout of the keyboard; hit Ctrl-Shift again and you should be on your way to a normal keyboard. - Susan
figure where you keyboard was made, or which layout it has at least i.e. english, german, italian layout.... right click on the taskbar and, select the toolbar menu, and then activate the language bar. Click on the keyboard sign on the taskbar which newly appeared (sometimes instead of a keyboard its two initials) add a new keyboard layout corresponding to your keyboard and apply it by selecting it as default. That way the settings should be back to normal. - triple-xxxx
