Mac or Pc??? - drpepper1106 What are the advantages to a Mac over a pc? What are the advantages to a pc over a Mac? Laptop or desktop

Best Answer: When you have a Pc, you have around 90% of the computer market on your side. You have the software support, and most harware will be optimized for windows, unless said otherwise. Pcs are also much cheaper to upgrade/build, because they are built that way. And yeah, they are gaming machines, but I think anyone who is even slightly into games would know that. As for downsides, there is vista now, as well as the typical point of no return that viruses can, and do, overtake Pcs. Macs are good if you have a lot of money, and want a very intregated life, given you buy more mac stuff. For example, you get an iPhone, which works best with an iMac, and can sync with iPhoto and iTunes, and its also an iPod, you get my point. They are also known just to work, but when you can get something that is 1/10 the price that does the same thing with a Pc. On a last note on macs, they have 1 button, and can't be upgraded by most people. Desktops are high power and cheaper. Laptops are portable. I have both to suit my needs. - cashcow496

Macs are nice to have because you wont get Viruses or Spywares. Which can be annoying if your PC doesn't have Aintivirus/spyware. But on Macs, there are many programs that aren't compatible with it. PCs can pretty much do anything a Mac can do. - dahgutone

Mac over PC? Some of the propitiatory software available for Mac....like photo\video editing. PC over Mac? Well, your not going to find a Mac laptop for 450$ at best buy....your going to spend 1099$ minimum for the cheapest notebook they make....not counting refurbished. i have a mac it hates me ok macs are not compatable with pcs at all so its hard to do homework when you have a mac and all the school computers are pcs. also they crash easily [well mine does. apparently i have too many files but i know people with pcs that have more music/pictures] and you get better software when you have a pc [even things like iTunes] pcs have more availible programs and, in my opinion, pcs are easier to maneuver because mroepeople know how to work a pc than a mac so its easier to get help with you computer also my mac doesnt run some websites and its realy annoying so PC - audi

the main ones and this is my honest opinion and as far as I've researched which is alot MACs and PC's both can get virus but! it's way harder for macs on the other hand there are way more apps for pc that is about the only real difference I have found - charlie

well realy it depends what you are using the pc for, office and documentation: PC gaming: PC movies, media, pictures and editing: MAC laptop or deskop: your jugement for gaming i would go with Desktop any questions pls email me - webcamsarecool
