Matt P My computer is on the fritz!!!? - Matt P Alright this is what happens. im playing a game, online/cd, and give or take ten-fifteen minutes, the computer shuts down and makes a errror noise. i swear this happended before and it involved the fan. What is probably really wrong and how should i fix it?
Best Answer: Naaah! What it is is your video card fan is being stressed to the max. That is probably what is causing the noise...from overheating. I would either try to get a better video card with a better cooling solution or even get a better heatsink/fan for the CPU or both. Also, check all you fans in your box, make sure they are working, and do a vacuum job and clean out the dust. This will lower energy consumption and improve removal of heat. - Jim
That means your processor is overheated. Which means your fan either: *does not cool the processor fast enough *fan not properly installed **or the processor was messed up while messing with the fan - DonutHero
maybe some part is overheating. the cpu or the graphics card and even the motherboard. check your temperatures with some tools you can find on the internet. see if all the fans are working and check if your computer is clean from the inside. or maybe you have something damaged and needs replacing. but if you cant solve anything, try and do a clean install of windows to make sure its not just a software problem. - faisal s
next time it happens hit delete or whatever to get into setup next time you turn on the system.. see what the cpu temperature is. also try starting in safemode and go to event manager within administrator tools.. take down on paper what errors are popping up when the system shuts down. - Dement
