Mike W home theater setup question? - Mike W in my bedroom, i might get a 5.1 surround system. i usually play my ps3 while sitting next to the side wall in front of my tv in the corner. will the sound be distorted if im not in the middle of the speakers?
Best Answer: WIth a properly set up 5.1 system, you will get smooth sound, but as you shift from area to area, you will find that individual speakers will become more apparent. As an example, if you move closer to the right front speaker, it will become more pronounced than the left front or the rear speakers. One way to offset this is to adjust the individual speaker balance in the surround settings of your receiver for the area where you are sitting. Good luck. - Curt C
Sound is never distorted the thing is you will get that sound more which ever speaker is nearer to you so you have to balance the system volumes accordingly. - Rajinder
