pikachu2473 I spilled Iced Tea onto my laptop last night? - pikachu2473 I just spilled Iced Tea on my brand new 1000$ laptop. It's a HP Pavillion DV6000. I spilled it on the keyboard. So I unplugged it and took all the keys out. Wiped and put them back on. It was still sticky and then I turned on my laptop. It made a terrible beeping sound and I found the bottom wet. WHAT DO I DO? I phoned my Computer Repair place and they charge 180$ to clean it. I am a 13 year old kid. I can not afford that.
Best Answer: Take the battery out Open it around half way and set it up on its side kind of like a book. Let it just dry out for a couple of days. I know you are a kid and a couple of days sounds like a long time but it needs to be dry before you try to turn it on again. Hopefully you didnt burn anything out. If you did then the $180.00 is a low price to fix it. Im sorry that happened to you. I hope its ok. - OZ

take out the battery and unplug it open all the compartments on the bottom of the laptop but don't unplug anything. now go to hp's website and learn how to remove your keyboard completely. pay attention to the cable that connects the keyboard to the laptop. after the laptop is opened and sits for 4 to 5 days reassemble and hope turning it on wet did not fry it. remember the next time you get a new laptop pay for the no questions asked warranty http://bitsandbytescomputers.sytes.net - bitsandbytescomputers.sytes.net
