Cheapest way to TEXT people in Australia from the UK? - Cassie I'm off to Oz next month and want to know the cheapest way my friends and family can text me from the UK. By using their mobiles normally it's 40p a text! I'm aware that phoning is cheaper in the long run but if anyone knows a solution so they can text me at a good rate (e.g. some kind of text bundle) that'd be great! Additional Info:- The service providers they are on are T-Mobile and Orange. Thanks much!! =]

Best Answer: Hi mate, The cheapest way for people to contact abroad from the uk is be buying a LEBARA Sim card, you can get them for £19.95, I think from Phones 4U and they come with £20 already on it. You can text abroad or call for as little as 4p per min. It's the cheapest way I've ever found. Hope this helps, Cam - Cameron B

they could buy a Sim card while out there then it should cost them no more than a normal text - manxbiker
