Question and Answers

ME My cd-rw player will not open and its not reconised.? - ME I burned an .iso of linux on a cd-rw, and I tried to boot from it but it instead started normally with windows, except a lot slower. I made shure my boot order in my BIOS was set for the drive and I tried again. But again it started to windows slowly. I tried to eject the disk in while booted in windows the drive will not open, I also cant see the drive in windows explorer and I couldent see it in Alcohol 120%. Im running Windows XP media center on a HP 522c Pc.
Best Answer: Straighten out a paperclip and push it in the little hole in the front of the drive to open it. Then go to Device Manager and see if the drive is in the list . It might have a yellow ! or a red x next to it. Right click on the drive and choose uninstall. Then restart the computer and hopefully it will recognize the drive and reinstall the driver for it. Download the iso again, it was probably corrupted. Burn it to the CD at the slowest speed you can to help eliminate errors. -
