Is my amp not powerful enough for my subs? - Ron c I have a Kicker 500.2 powering my 2 12" Kicker CVR 400 RMS Each Sub 1600 Watts Max each. Do i need a bigger amp to push my subs harder??

Best Answer: First The answer is no you don't need a bigger amp.. Second You d*m sure don't need the amp the other guy said unless you want to cook BBQ subs. I do wish you would stop recommitting that amp you have know idea what that amp is capable of doing or how much power it takes to run it I need to know if they are dual 2 ohm or dual 4 ohm? I'm going to say they're Dual 4 ohm because that's the most common this amp will go mono at a 4 ohm load . Here's how to get a mono 4 ohm load . Take e sub 1 an wire the two pos (+) 's together then wire the neg ( - )'s together now you have a 2 ohm sub . Do the same to sub 2 Now take the Neg ( - ) of sub 1 connect it to the pos(+) of sub 2 now take the neg ( - ) of sub 2 an pos )+) of sub 1 these two wires will go to the amp. Turn down the gain an the boost to 0 Now turn on your radio turn the radio up to about 5 or 6 on the vol or till you get good mids an hi's now adjust the gain to a 1/4 of the way then the boost adjust till it sound good on the gain you shouldn't have to go passed 1/2 gain This should hit harder. If you do have dual 2 ohm subs email me cause you will have to wire it totally different or you will blow the amp. I hope this will help you . email me with any questions good luck -

really depends on your subwoofers ohm's in order to tell you if that sub's good enuff , but even yooking at the basic specks I would say upgrade to this , at first you might think overkill but it's really not it put's out the best wattage per ohm's so no matter what ohm's your sub's are there will be a way to power them to there fullest and set the gain at half instead of 3/4 like the amp you have now know what i mean http://www.woofersetc.com/p7500/BXI-2010D--Hifonics-2000W-1-Channel-MonoBlock-Amplifier.htm by the way hifonics only make amps and thats all they study lets just say they got it down and there also winning more comps than any other amp this year word wide - doeboy579
