Name-In-Lights Broken LCD on my camera? - Name-In-Lights I just inherited a camera from my sister. It has a cracked LCD http://kensingtonvictoria.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/crack-desk.jpg Like that please look at the link. It's on the screen were you see the picture. Is there a way to fix this? Im going to a camera shop but can you tell me if they could fix it.?
Best Answer: I did something very similar to my camera. I went to best buy and asked them what the best route to fixing it would be. They told me that it usually (about 90% of the time) is cheaper to buy a new camera than to fix the screen. Especially now that cameras are getting cheaper and cheaper to buy. If you got the camera for free this might be your best bet, you could always sell the camera on craigslist for someone who might want the parts. But who knows...I did only go to best buy...a better camera shop might say something different. Just sharing my experience!! Good Luck. - tati099

It depends on what kind of camera you have. First of all, if it is a SLR, then you should be using the eyepiece; I'm not a pro, and that's what I do. If you it's a Panasonic Lumix, then you shoul be aware that, despite the overall excellent quality of the camera, the LCD's quality is not at all durable. If you have a regular point-and-shoot, then take it into a camera repair shop (most camera stores have one,) use the warantee, or buy a new one. Please give me feedback, on avramiebk@gmail.com - Me
That needs a whole new LCD as its cracked the panel, unless the camera is new and in good condition I would consider buying a new camera rather then having it fixed - Mattfox14
