Question and Answers

Spartan Whats the highest spec net-book you can buy.? - Spartan
Best Answer: Actually Alienware doesn't make netbooks, only laptops, and high end gaming laptops at that. Netbooks are small very portable, and generally low in price and power. Netbooks are fairly new to the market, and are usually offered through the major computer companies like dell, gateway, etc., but also through cell phone companies that would allow you to use the 3g networks for internet access. Check out verizon/att/sprint to see what kind of deals you can get. The fastest processors I think right now are the Intel Atom processors at 1.6ghz, and hard drives up to 160gb, or solid state drives up to 80gb, i believe. - Sligh
One that is good enough for basic tasks, such as working on the go (for example; with Word or Excel sheets), or browsing the internet & checking your emails. Netbooks are not really "power houses", so if you want a high-spec, but small, computer, just get a laptop. You will get much higher spec, although it will cost you in terms of battery life and general portability (and, of course, money :P). It's up to you, but most netbooks are the much the same, in terms of specifications, right across the board (and this includes across different manufacturers). - Gizzo
The highest spec netbook... A fujitsu Lifebook. Not only did Fujitsu have lifebooks in 2000... long before the creation of the term Netbook... but they have always had more features and power than Any netbook has approached. You can get a Lifebook with a dual core processor. Acer, Asus, Dell, HP.. all the companies making netbooks only offer low power, low strength processors. Fujitsu Lifebook. Otherwise, stop thinking like you are thinking... like you can cut some corner and get a netbook that is as powerful as a laptop. If you want a laptop, get a laptop. If you want a netbook... and by definition a netbook is not a High Specification Device... get a netbook. Stop looking for shortcuts. If you have to think high specifications, you don't want a netbook... unless it is just to try to impress ignorant people. - bon-gart
I would imagine it's an alienware. They primarily make computers for gaming, serious gamers seem to need some serious specs. They do have some "off the shelf" stuff but usually they're custom built - Cei
