Question and Answers

Sookie Help with car electronics? - Sookie Hey I installed new 6x9s the other day running off my head deck. It sounds awesome. For my 3 anniversary I booked a chalet in springbrook for the night and a picnic at Byron bay. On the way to Bryon a engine code.. Engine electrical system warning comes up. Then my car started sounding like a v8. ROUGH. LOUD. and stalls. Started her up again... same symptoms occur. I thought back, now what was the last thing that was changed in my car.... 6x9s. OK. Disconnect them... and turn the head deck off. Waited few minutes and started her up. No dramas... Continued on my merry way. So, im curious what is causing this... Maybe a bad earth point somewhere? or dodgy wiring? hmmm... any ideas?
Best Answer: It definitely sounds as though you either have a bad ground or you wired the system wrong. I would go back and rewire everything and find a new ground. If that doesn't solve your problem, take the car to a professional and get it wired. Crutchfield.com has some decent deals on installation cars if you want to check them out. -
