jellibean can laying a tv on tis front hurt it? - jellibean
Best Answer: Depends on how well you protect the screen. Accepting that the front is the most fragile part of the TV, As long as you protect it from cracking or scratching (depending on type of TV), laying it on its front could be the best bet as that way nothing can fall on it and damage it. However, if you lay it on something uneven or protruding, this is likely to damage it. Mechanically, there is nothing inside the TV that would be upset by it being on it's front so you could mount it on your bedroom ceiling and watch it in bed (using secure fixings so it doesn't fall and kill you while you sleep) - Astaroth
I think I know what you are asking. It's OK to lay a large screen LCD or Plasma TV on it's face IF it's supported evenly across the entire front. So, you can put it face down on a carpeted floor (gently) with no problems. I wouldn't lay it down on the back seat of your car and drive across town, though. Not supporting the face evenly would allow the display panel to flex and crack. - R T
Yes it will damage it because you can scratch the screen or even crack it so I wouldn't do that. Is there a reason why you would do that? - BlazinmanFly
