do i have to use my real name to open a phone? - i wanted to open a house phone from Verizon and i dont want anyone to find me in yellow page or white page can i use a nickname to open a account from verizon phone bill company?
Best Answer: You most probly will have to or else the credit check wont pass. You can block your number tho if you dont want to be in yellow pages. -
You have to use your real name. You can get an unlisted number that does not appear anywhere and will not be given out by Directory Assistance. - evilattorney

You will need to open your name with your real name that matches your social security. However you can ask not to be listed in the phone books. They will not allow for nicknames only the name listed.
