Would an unlocked LG Viewty really work on any network? - Screenager Hey, so it sounds kind of dumb that I'm asking if an unlocked phone would work on any network but I'm just a little confused here... Basically i'm on a Virgin Pre-Paid BYO phone plan and have been since forever. Well recently my last mobile phone got broken and I'm looking at updating to an unlocked second-hand LG KU990 viewty. My only issue is that I read on ebay that another LG Viewty had been unlocked from 3 (Australia) and had all the 3 firmware on it; and hence was only compatible with certain networks such as 3, vodafone and telstra... virgin wan't included. So I'm just wondering if a phone has been unlocked from a network if the firmware will accept the other network's sim card and if not is there some sort of virgin firmware or something that would fix this? Thanks in advance!

Best Answer: Yep, it certainly will work. You might not be able to send MMS or use the internet, but it's as simple as calling the telco you're using the sim card from & they can send through the settings to get that fixed. - Lavender&Cream
