Bonzo URGENT...I gotta print a pic on gloss paper via my home printer. Gloss side up or down? - Bonzo
Best Answer: If the printer is a flat bed printer, then it is glossy side up, and the paper goes in the rear of the printer. If the paper tray is in front of the printer, then it is glossy side down. - Phil Walmsley
Try printing your name on a sheet of A4 then recycle it through your printer to establish which way you need to insert the gloss/matt With SOME printers the gloss side goes face down. - jay

It depends on the printer, but on both of mine you put the glossy side down.
if the paper is picked up on a roller (like in HP or simular printers) then the side you want to print on goes down. if it's a top loader (like an epson) then print side faceing forward. - Insane_mad_maniak
Get a piece of paper, write on it, put it face down in the tray and print something. See which side get printed on! I have to do that every time. lol - reggie
I am not to sure but couldn't you just print out a normal piece of paper out and see how it works...? If it's that urgent - tyron

You need to print onto the glossy side. Do a test on some plain paper first if you're not sure which way round to load the paper. - Caz
