Question and Answers

George Which A/V receiver would you choose? - George http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882117300 Or http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001VEI2KO/ref=noref?ie=UTF8&s=electronics
Best Answer: They are both fine choices. It really comes down to your needs/preferences ... so look at the details and consider what matters to you. Just keep in mind that a difference in power of less than 40-50 watts is irrelevant so focus of the factors such as # HDMI ports in and out, upscaling/transcoding or not (and whether these matters to you), type DSP effects, looks, local support. Read reviews and forum posts to try to assess relative quality issues. Also keep in mind the Elite Pioneer receivers are not much better than the non-Elite so consider whether the improvements are worth the extra cost. To confuse things further .. you should also consider Denon. - agb90spruce
Pioneer 1019. - BANG P
i would definitly go with onkyo. they are a much more popular brand. they are much higher quality parts and usually output more wattage then they advertise. pioneer and other companies usually sell receivers with watt ratings several times higher then they can actually put out to all channels. the onkyo says it can do 90 watts/channel. the pioneer says 350 watts. so the pioneer will output 43 watts/channel. obviously the onkyo can do more. - Jasper
I would go with the Onkyo, they tend to have a little bit more robust amplifier inside. They have a better damping factor that the Pioneer and are a little cleaner with less distortion, and will handle a wider range of speakers - Lance
