Question and Answers

can i connect the sub directly to a battery? -
Best Answer: yo ya!!! it will give it 12 volts!!!! - Edgar
Yup. Would be quite useless though. Plug it into your wall socket (get a MTX Jackhammer). It will vibrate 50-60Hz full time. You will puke from all the power. - Master_W
You can, but why take the chance of damaging a good speaker? There will nothing but a pop in one direction and then it will just stay there. A battery is a dc device and a speaker works on AC. So what would be the benefit! Notta thing! - Old Man Dirt
If you do, it will likely blow the voice coil, rendering the sub useless. If you use a VERY low wattage battery (Such as a 9v) and connect it to the terminals on the speaker, it will help you determine polarity of each terminal. If it pushes OUT, you have positive on positive. If is sucks in, you have polarity reversed. - human4m
