JNic My laptop screen BROKE!!!!? - JNic So my laptop broke in my class. I dont know what happen but i know that I left it on the ground. I have a warranty but I need a good excuse of how the computer broke without envolving human actions (ex. stepping on it, leaving it on the floor, etc.). Maybe I can say that it over heated??? IDK please please please help me with a good excuse!
Best Answer: Overheating won't cause the screen to break it will melt certain components but not the screen. If the manufacturer will replace the screen, they probably cover it regardless of what happens since (as a computer tech) I can not come up with a good reason for a screen to crack without poor handling. You can just try the line..... "I don't know what happened. I left it on my desk at home, came back and it was cracked." They can't prove you wrong. - Michael_W
I assume that the screen is cracked, in which case, you just voided your warranty. Last ditch effort is to try to call up your credit card company to see if you have any extra protection warranties just for using the card. Some card companies offer it as an incentive but if not, you're out of luck. play a hundred bucks or so and have it replaced with a new screen. If it's not cracked, ignorance is the best excuse. just don't tell em you left it on the floor. - curlyman72
Overheating won't crack the screen LOL so don't use that excuse ..Just say you don't know what happened ..Act dumb !!! - Sexy Scottish Kool Aid Man
that's a User-Error only kinda thing, they might but the overheated thing. you couldtake it to geek squad, they can change a screen for about $150, but the overheated thing might work. - chris.green63
If it's not cracked, tell them you don't know what happened to it
