runswithvamps Can I use a universal remote to change the Directv channels? - runswithvamps I got a used TV from a friend and they didn't have a remote to it. I have an extra Directv box for the tv, but no remote. Can I buy a universal remote to change Directiv channels?
Best Answer: I tried a universal remote to change the channels on the dish and it did change the channel but that is all, I could not get it to use the program guide or anything like that. Just head to the DirectTV dealer and order a new remote control. - mowman
