Branden! What HDTV is best for me? 720p, 720i, 1080p, or 1080i? - Branden! I'm getting an HDTV come this Christmas. I have a PlayStation 3 and I play video games on it and watch Blu-Ray movies quite frequently. I watch television sometimes with Dish Network. So what quality television should I get?
Best Answer: P is better than i and if you have under 40 inch size 720p is enough because you won't see difference but for 40 inch and more you will get benefit of 1080p http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2FTVs-Televisions-Audio-Video%2Fb%3Fie%3DUTF8%26node%3D979929011%26ref%255F%3Dsv%255Fe%255F3&tag=computer0bd-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=390957 - ArC
it's not just resolution, look for if LCD at response times below 4 ms and 120hz or 240hz features to reduce blurring lcd's suffer from. A plasma especially if it's a good brand like samsung or panasonic doesn't have blurring because they are 0.001ms response times and 600hz out the box and have better contrast and colors than LCD's. If you are getting a TV smaller than 40 inches then 720p is fine for everything, usually you will notice 1080p being better than 720p at around 50 inches. Also most hd stuff on dish network is 720p anyways. So I would only go 1080p on a big screen TV and plasma's offer great deals on big screen HDTV's if you want something less than 40, then LCD is your only option. - mike
