Alex R How dose surround sound work? 10 points? - Alex R I have the logitech z-5500 i have a SP/DIF connection and a 6 channel connection. The SP/DIF (aka optical) only works in movies. By the way i have them connected to a pc. The optical works in movies but not with any other audio. How can i get it to work for every thing? Best Answer: The "problem" is that only movies or games offer 5.1 sound. MP3s, itunes, etc, are all stereo. Check if your receiver has an option to create "virtual surround" out of stereo. - TV guy
Maybe a matching sound card. But it should work with any other audio. It will just use front left and front right for music that is in stereo. - AL M
