Question and Answers

Nikao How do I get DTS sound? - Nikao I have an old tv and sound decoder with a new blu-ray player. If I got a new hd 1080p tv would I be able to get uncompressed DTS sound, or would I still need a sound decoder to get DTS?
Best Answer: Depending on your blu ray disc player. If you have a receiver and it's hook up to the blu ray disc player via HDMI cable then your receiver will do the work. If you don't have a receiver and you have an 8 channel amplifier you can hook up from the blu ray disc player via analog output if the player is so equipped. Your tv will be hooked up to the receiver via HDMI cable. By using HDMI cable when you turn the blu ray disc player it should trigger the receiver to turn on and along with your tv. It would have help if you mentioned the brand of blue ray disc player and your surround sound system. Hope this will help. - bbt91945
First, I really doubt you can distinguish between HD DTS and regular DTS; having said that, you do need a new AV Receiver with HDMI input and the ability to decode HD DTS. - TV guy
