Cσηνєяѕє Cяαzу ☂ How do I get rid of this red underline underneath my writing when I type words? - Cσηνєяѕє Cяαzу ☂ When l answer and ask questions, i get red underline underneath my words to correct it - Like a spell checker. Can someone tell me how to turn it off, please?! Thanks (:
Best Answer: It is Yahoo's Spell Checker. Unfortunately it is US English which has many different spellings from the UK English. You cannot turn it off even by changing your options under "Tools" if you are using Firefox. I know it is annoying because of the differences between US and UK English and it also splits words unnecessarily. In fact, it is asking me to change "English" to "Eng list", "Eng-list" or "Enlist" so I guess the word "English" is not included in Yahoo's Spell Checker dictionary. - Jennifer Rush
Its a spell checker..Its picking out words that are spelled differently to UK English.I am afraid you are stuck with the damn thing P.. - Steve Uk
That sounds like you have Firefox. You can turn off its spell checker this way: 1. Click the Tools->Options menu item. 2. Click the Advanced page. 3. Click the General tab. 4. Uncheck Check my spelling as I type. 5. Click OK. Hope that helps. - The Phlebob
As others have said, it sounds like the spell checker and you can't turn it off. They may be wrong when they say 'learn to spell' because, although this is the UK & Ireland site of Yahoo Answers, the spell checker only knows the American spellings so it will show mistakes even though the word may be spelt correctly. Try 'colour' or 'neighbour' .... both perfectly good English words for which the spelling was changed in America. - roscullion
its because your spelling something wrong. All you do is right click on it, and it will have a list of different words, close to that spelling. Choose which one is for you, && than your done <3 - eyeloveyouuhxo
