how do i erase my hard drive completely and start all over ? - or can i add something like another hard drive to expand my memory
Best Answer: To answer the other part of your question "or can i add something like another hard drive to expand my memory", You can purchase an external hard drive that will plug into your computer with USB. You can move all of your documents onto the external hard drive and have all of that space back on your computer. - Carla G
Hello, if you boot from your operating System CD you can choose to format and reinstall Or you can add another had drive and dual boot to a different OS Or just use the other hard drive for storage. Mike the mod
Erasing hard drive and starting all over is easy if you don't have any data you want to keep from it. You don't want to loose important data by erasing the hard drive right away. I like buying a new hard drive (larger capacity) and using the old drive a s a second hard drive. If you have a disk to install the operating system from. Install new operating system on the new hard drive from DVD or CD drive. - Cheerful1
"In Windows: click on "My Computer" right click on "local disk (C:) click on "format". God, your MEAN!!! ;-) Actually, I've always wondered, will windows even LET you do that? ADD: Heh...I just checked. The option is there! That's funny! I'll have to try it sometime, just to see what happens. ;-) "another hard drive to expand my memory" Harddrives add "disk space", not "memory". "Memory" is RAM. And yes, you can add harddrives to increase disk space. If you want to erase your harddrive and "start all over", just boot off your installation CD and reinstall to the same partition. - Geezer Geek

to start fresh it is pretty easy: In Windows: click on "My Computer" right click on "local disk (C:) click on "format". Adding another drive will give additional space for your programs/data, but not memory - Servette
