Laptop Display to Monitor? - I am getting a HP DV6 laptop which has a 15.6 HD LED HP Brightview Widscreen Display. I have a Dell E173FP Color Monitor which is just a flat LCD Screen. If I want to display my laptop on my main monitor will it work or will it look all distorted because of the widscreen and hd of the laptop monitor. I am trying to figure out if I am getting to have to get a new monitor. Thanks for any help.
Best Answer: Hi, It will work fine. You can connect the LCD Monitor VGA Cord to Laptop and right click on the Desktop. Just goto Properties. there you can see "Settings" tab. There you can adjust the Resolution. Its fine. No need to waste money for another monitor. Good Luck, JA - Jithu Ambady
It should work just fine. You might have to adjust settings a little in display settings but other than That you should be good to go. Make sure all drivers are up to date - Double R
You can set the laptop resolution to match the monitor. - Nomadd
You'll be able to configure your laptop for the external monitor just fine. When you use the external monitor, remember to specify the resolution of the output to match the native resolution of the monitor (1280 x 1024) for the clearest image. - Eric A
