Question and Answers

How bad is it to listen to your CD player while your car is in the ACC position? - Is it better/worse/same to put it in the on position without starting the vehicle? I know it could drain your battery temporarily (but is recharged when the engine is on), but are there any long term effects to this? I know idling is bad, and this probably isn't much better, but during my lunch break I like to take a nap in my car with my cd player on. It's very relaxing.
Best Answer: it does no damage at all, it drains the battery just a little, but the alternator charges it right back up, if you turn it to on with out it running the fuel pump kicks on, but i do it too all the time, and i have never had problems - v8 guy
As long as you can still start your car when you're done, it's not really a problem. If you drain the battery completely, though, it's not good for the battery. - KaeZoo
thats wat the acc position is made for....so use it...the engine on position will drain more battery...... - Karle
