Best Answer: Ok here is what I did. Install the video cam with its drivers and stuff. Then download Skype from the website ( a new version is now available ) and install it normally. Connect the Webcam and see the green (blue) light on the Webcam is glowing. Once you start Skype, in all probability, it should detect the webcam. Even if it doesnt. Go to Skype Menu, Select Tools -> Options and click on the Video (BETA) in the left side menu list. Make sure "Enable Skype Video" is checked and you will see a drop down for "Select Webcam". You should 3 entries in the drop down. 1. Default video device 2. Webcam 3. Webcam (VFW) If you dont see Entry 2 (where XXXX is the name of your Webcam as identified by Windows) then Skype is not detecting your webcam or your webcam starts ONLY on selection to use. In that case simply select "Default Video Device" and hope it works. Otherwise there is nothing much you can do. If you SEE the Entry 2 then select it, save it and use "Test Webcam" to confirm if skype recognizes your webcam. A friend of mine bought a webcam (older model) which has same problem that the Green light on the cam only glows when its "started" and not always. Despite many attempts we were not able to get it working in Skype. But it works in Yahoo. Buying a Creative or Logitech camera makes sense and I have worked with both of them in my Skype. Hope this helps. .:Fishie:. - Fishie
