tiffin_99 DVD (SCART) to CRT/D-SUB 15 pin/RGB??? - tiffin_99 I have a philips DVP3020 DVD player with SCART, composite, coaxial (digital out) and component out. I also have various CRT monitors but no TV. Can I connect my DVD player to my monitor? I thought I could and bought a scart > vga cable but I get no signal messages on any input type on the (iiyama visionmaster pro 17) monitor. I read something about the refresh rates being incompatible, but I thought I'd at least get something. Ideally I want to be able to output to any monitor, but I do at some point want to get a good sized TFT that I can use for work and play, I'm just a bit skint right now..
Best Answer: The problem is that your monitor is expecting an RGB signal and you're providing it with YPbPr instead. You'll need a transcoder to convert your 576p signal to VGA (RGB) Here's one such device: http://www.crescendo-systems.com/rev_transcoder.html Google around and you might find one cheaper that will do what you want. - Geoff S
