Nixville How do I upload footage from my video camera when it didn't come with any software? - Nixville I own a Sony HDV 1080i mini-dv handycam model no. HDR-HC1 and it didn't come with software. I have a usb cord. How/where do I find drivers/software for uploading footage from my camera to my computer? Whenever I plug it in with the usb cord, Windows XP (with all of its updates) just picks up pictures I have on the memory disk.
Best Answer: You bought a high definition cam and that means quality of video is important to you. If that's the case, you can forget about using USB because the cam will reduce the quality of the video significantly in order to transfer the video over USB to movie maker (or other capture software). For such cam, use the firewire interface that is available in your cam. There are many answers about firewire interface in Yahoo!Answers; search for it. - KM

From what I know I don't know if it can read the high definition video - mc
