need help finding a photo printer? - missinmysailor I am looking for a good photo printer any recommendations I have been looking at the selphy by canon. Also just to prove my ineptness at the computer can i use a photo printer to also hook up to the computer and use as a regular printer for coloring pages and flyers and such ( yes i probably should know this). Also I would like the printer to have one of those little screens to see the pics and be portable. Thank you

Best Answer: Hi there, I too looked for a good photo printer that would do good normal text printing and spent ages reading up on reviews etc. I bought the Canon ip4500 and have to say I am very very pleased with the purchase. Make sure to select the right paper before printing as that makes a huge difference. Don't cheap skate on photo paper and you can't go wrong. Prints are guaranteed to last 100 years in glass frames too....... Good luck - MelD

Okay, you can not have both. The Canon Selphy models are portable 4 x 6 printers only. No flyers or documents can be printed from this. Current most reviewers like the Epson Picturemate series the best for a portable printer, although HP has some good ones now. If you want a good desktop printer that does photos, stay with Canon and look at the Pixma line that uses the 8 Color cartridges. Very good quality, not bad prices. - tmolhoek
