ixiblix Replacing Vista with XP on a XPS 1530 laptop? - ixiblix I'm deeply considering investing in a DELL XPS 1530 but I don't like the fact that it only comes with the option to install Vista. (it takes up to much processing/RAM or something) Is there a way to add XP to it instead? I know you need to do something with drivers but the answers I've read haven't been very clear.... In your answer, please include step-by-step directions or a link to a site that has them!! Thanks.
Best Answer: simple install should not be an issue, but to get all and all of your components to get working could prove a bit tricky that model does not offer windows xp drivers, so you may have to do it the hard way an easier option would be you configure around the dell vostro 1500, http://www.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/vostronb_1500?c=us&cs=04&l=en&s=bsd&~tab=bundlestab not as sleek and flasy, but a solid no-frills performer all the same - sεαn™

The easiest thing to do would be to call Dell and ask that they configure that laptop with XP. This will not be possible after June 30th when XP will no longer be offered with a new computer. However, you still will be able to buy the installation CD. - sosguy
