PirateSmack Mac problem? - PirateSmack I just bought a Macpro, tried to fire it up, and it wouldn't start. So I opened it up to see what was wrong, and found that there was no RAM in it. I called Apple and demanded a refund, but they wouldn't because I opened it up. I'M SO MAD!!! What do I do?
Best Answer: Really???? Just buy more ram from Apple ;) Edit lol....hey if u can afford a mac pro then u can afford a lawyer, try to get one quick and take apple to court. :) - phoenix
First mistake was buying a Mac instead of a PC. just kidding. second mistake was that you opened it up. All hope is not lost. unless you made the third and worst mistake of all. you paid with cash or check. if you paid with a credit card you are in luck. call your credit card company and dispute the charges immediately. then write them using certified mail so that you have a record of the dispute date. You must do so in writing to protect yourself. They might be a little more compliant to help you out if they dont get their money. why dont you ask them to send you the ram? what amazes me is that with all the glitzy mac commericals, and the prices they charge, dont they at least start up and burn in their computers before they are shipped out? - pat n
Dude! That is SOoo wierd. I would call the guy who owns the company. I heard its not all that big a place, and he answers the phone at times. Bet he would help out, being as they are trying to sell stuff off before Windows comes out with Seven. That wouldn't happen on a windows machine you know? Do they still make Mac Pros? I heard of em. Those are the funny lil computers that are like all diff colors right? - Astro
if you have the reciept they have to help you or they must replace the whole unit if it did not say warrenty void when opened on the sticker inside the unit - sward424
Wow that's a tough one. Did you buy it used or new? Did you buy it from the apple store or an authorized retailer? You should probably break out a pen and paper and start writing a letter. I've found that writing letters when companies screw me over gets me a positive reaction every time. Even if your retailer fixes your problem I'd still send a detailed letter. - Barbara B
You did create a problem by opening it. Think about their side. How can they possible know you didn't open it, take the memory out, then try to return it. The case had warnings all over it. You would have been better off taking it back, or sending it back when it didn't work. Your best bet at this time it to buy the memory. I know it sucks, but its your only real option at this point. At least then the computer should work for you. Sorry, cheers. - JimKata
