Question and Answers

Sgt Lee Microsoft Excel question, how to display value, not the function? - Sgt Lee I would like to know if there is a code/function/micro that would automatically convert B2=SUBSTITUTE(A2,".","") into the text or number of the resulting function. For example A2 is 123.456.789 and B2 displays 123456789 I would like to be able to have C2 display only the text of 123456789 and when I click on it I want to be able to copy the resulting number not the function. Maybe I am thinking too hard on this one, is there an option that I can click or change to make this possible when I click on B2 instead of making another column (C2) I want the cell to be text, not a function. Thanks in advance!!
Best Answer: after you do the copy, when you do a paste, choose 'paste special' and choose 'Values' - john o
try just putting (in B2) just: =SUBSTITUTE(A2,".","") The assignment operator will do the trick, you don't need a B2 there. I missed the C2 part. Select C2 and make it =B2. Then, copy C2 and paste it into the rest of your C# cells. - † {xXx} † Joxue †
