What power supply do I need to buy to support all of these? What is the best cooling system that goes with these parts? Thank you...
Best Answer: thats an outstanding gaming build, but make SURE that the RAM is compatible with the motherboard. its corsair so it should work. you dont list a power supply either i would recommed this as a case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119138 and this for a power supply. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341002 as for cooling, unless you know what you are doing or know someone else that does, stay away from water cooling. CPU cooler http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103040 and get this to go with it. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835100007 VGA cooler. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835118037 - Jedi Master <
For a power supply, get 800 watts at least. This is based on figures here: http://enthusiast.hardocp.com/article.html?art=MTUxOCwxMCwsaGVudGh1c2lhc3Q= and here: http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=3334&p=9 You'll be drawing at least 500w at load, and this doesn't take into account all the peripherals you have and the possibility that you might want to overclock. Make sure it has enough power on each rail to handle your setup. You might want to go to slizone and check out their sli-certified PSUs: http://www.slizone.com/object/slizone_build_psu.html Note that the supplies they list may vary greatly in things like noise and build quality (and it's not an exhaustive list of supplies that will work), so check out some reviews before you settle on a PSU. Whatever you do, get a good quality supply --- with what you're spending on your system, it would be silly to skimp and get a cheapo power supply. For a case, slizone has certified some cases: http://www.slizone.com/object/slizone_build_cases.html In addition to the cases listed in that URL, the Antec 1200 might be another reasonable choice. Whatever case you get, a priority should be something with good cooling. For CPU cooling, two popular coolers are the Xigmatek HDT-S1283 and the Thermalright Ultra-120. Once bit of advice is to get a bolt-through kit so you don't have to rely on the usual Intel push-pins to secure your heatsink. For a thermal compound, Arctic Cooling MX-2 may be slightly better than the usually recommended Arctic Silver 5. - Ratufa
you have that kind of money and you need to build your own computer? you better have a really big case with a good cooling system - champers
Everything looks good. Great build btw. procesor and motherboard sockets match, as does the ram, for a case i would go with: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811133062 - Chris B
