Negro P Did I make a good PC? - Negro P It'll be mainly used for gaming, school work and simple processes (E-Mail, Internet, AIM) Here are the specs: -CPU-Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4 GHz -GPU-BFG Tech Nvidia GeForce 9800GTX 700MHz Core (oppose to the 675MHz standard) -RAM-4GB of Corsair DDR2 800 -Motherboard-ASUS nForce 750i SLI Intel ATX -Hard Drive-Seagate 500GB 7200RPM SATA 3.0GB/Sec -PSU-CoolerMaster 700W 12V -CD/DVD Drive-LITE-ON CD/DVD Drive/Burner -Case-Antec 900 ATX Mid Tower -Windows Vista 64 bit Home Premium(I use 64 bit to recognize all 4GB of my RAM) It's all for under $1200 ($1194 to be exact). I think I did a good job, considering I didn't want to spend too much on it, what do you think? Oh and I already have a 19" viewsonic monitor so that is taken care of.
Best Answer: For gaming: not bad at all. For simple processes (E-Mail, Internet, AIM): way more gravy than you will ever need. For school work: absolutely overkill, almost shameful. Like a jet engine on a skateboard. Advice: Since you're GPU is cooking with gas, ditch the 19" viewsonic screen and get dual 24" panels. Also, I agree. Toss Vista and get XP Pro 64-bit Ed. I wouldn't trust all that hardware on Vista just yet. - Swibs
dont install XP it might go faster, but you would have a fast system that not uses its potential. sounds like a good price. get a better burner. buy zalman heat sink cooler. the stock one isnt good enough. - ELDIN V
Very good. Your computer is almost identical to mine! Unless you're into hardcore gaming and you like to crank all the graphics up, it's overkill. Don't worry about losing any system resources to Vista with 4GB of RAM. It's more than enough, trust me. 64-bit edition does have compatibility issues with some programs and drivers, though. 32-bit would recognize around 3.8 GB of your RAM, it's not very big of a loss. Great build :D ALSO. Tigerdirect.com almost ALWAYS has lower prices than Newegg. Check there first. - Brendon P
im personally not a fan of the intel quad cores but thats cuz their is very very little performance differance over their dual core procs. and im an ati fan so i would rather spend 60% as much on a http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814103061 and get 90% the gaming performance and a huge upgrade on everything 2d related. check newegg.com prices. normally the best deal. - farrengottu
Yes, that is very, very good. Actually, it's really overkill. Almost nothing out today needs near that much resources (except Crysis). Although, you won't have to upgrade for a while. - Bryan
ya, looks cool. but i would use XP instead. uses less system resources. - Zox M
