lmfao its not so funny when it happens to you but to others its a different case, cuz i've experienced the same sort of thing so many times and couldnt do anything about it -_- i dont know much about sony best thing i can think of is go to their website and re-install the audio driver hope you learned your lesson good luck - zachem
delete system32 - Anonymous
you can just go and call Sony and hopefully they can lead you to the right driver download.. Also, if your feeling lazy, maybe a system restore should work. If your running XP, go to start all programs, accessories, systems tools and click on system restore, if you have vista, im not exactly sure, cause i haven't messed around with it enough but u can google it. and system restore back to a time that u had the sound drivers, and u might get it back - kunalshah
Have you tried going into the device manager of your laptop and checking the driver for the audio card? Perhaps you can troubleshoot via there..... Start\settings\control panel\System\Hardware\device manager\sound, video, and game controllers (if something has a yellow exclamation mark next to it, it means that device has an issue, you can right click on it to see the repair options) You can also check your audio settings and make sure that the proper audio device is installed..... Start\settings\control panel\Sounds and Audio devices\Audio\sound playback\default device (and then choose the proper sound device in the drop down list) If all else fails you will probably have to find out what audio card is in the laptop (and whether or not its on-board or part of the motherboard), look up the proper drivers, and then download and install the drivers for the sound card. - snowwhiterachel
http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&categoryId=16154 that is where the drivers is for your dads notebook just type in the model number located on the bottom of the notebook and download the driver and install it. better hurry before you get into trouble!!! Good Luck!!!! - David J
first go to your dad and tell him. if I just found out that you tried to fix my laptop i would be even more angry. second ask him to teach you how to fix it. this is of course assuming that he knows to reinstall drivers. third STAY OFF HIS COMPUTER WITH OUT PERMISSION. - Jedi Master <

you just turned off the sound. Just turn the volume back on. If you actually erased a sound program grab his install disks and reinstall the sound program - Joshua T
Get new audio drivers, see if the volume is actually turned up, right click the little speaker in the bottom and see if the speakers are even there. - Ben
