Sen Scanner made a sound when plugged in? - Sen HP - ScanJet 3200C I just plugged in the scanner and it made a loud pop sound. For a second I thought it was that I banged it on something but so I plugged it back in. It seemed fine for about 20 seconds and then it made a smaller 'pop'. Right now it's unplugged and I would like to know what this means. Is the scanner bad? I used my printer's AC adapter but I checked the voltage and it seems to be in the same range. 120-127V 60 hertz It's a used scanner if that's any help.
Best Answer: Did you check the output voltage and polarity on the AC adapter? They're not all the same, even if the plug fits. If the printer's AC adapter has higher output voltage than the scanner expects, or if its power connector has + and - reversed from what your scanner expects, you have probably fried the scanner. - Rocket J Squirrel
