Crimson Monitors for gaming? - Crimson Has anyone had any experience with the 22" Dell Ultrasharp 2208WFP and/or the 22" Samsung 2253BW? Or have any experience with Dell vs Samsung monitors at all for gaming? The Dell seems a bit more expense than the samsung (from newegg) but i'm looking for a good monitor for games that can display colours well, so price doesnt really matter too much. I want it to show various shades of blacks well instead of them all blending in like they do in my current monitor and for them to show vivid colours without the blacklight bleeding in and ruining it. So if anyone has any advice between the two, any help would be much appreciated ^_^.
Best Answer: Get dell. From what i've seen and compared, it is slightly better than samsung in terms of picture display quality. Making it better for gaming. - Playtom
i currently have a samsung 22 inch with 2 ms response time. When you comapre the monitor to a monitor with a 5ms response time, you can almost notice a slight blurrr in the image in the image compared to the 2ms time. Also the samsung has a higher contrast ratio of 3000:1 which is very high and great. Colours are fantastic on this monitor compared to a monitor with 1000:1 or 2000:1 contrast ratio!... so in the end i think samsung is the way to go! - clown
That is a very good monitor...actually both are however imo the Samsungs always have better color especially the blacks...and better 3D realism...But if price isn't that important you should check out the new 22" samsung rose LCD only $30 more on newegg and the difference is a contrast ratio of 8000:1 compared to the rose's 20000:1 pus the rose has a kinda cool deep red glass around it and better response time due to an upgraded chipset.. here's the link to it http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001273 good luck and either way any of those monitor's are great gaming monitors - dynam1c
GET THE HP W2207 MONITOR. they look great with games and movies here is a link to a video reviewing it and it shoews the hp w2207 monitor playing a video in the midel it LOOKS NICER IN PERSON! http://news.tigerdirect.com/2008/03/24/hp-w2207-22-inch-widescreen-lcd-monitor-worth-every-penny/ ITS GREAT! and only 350 bucks! - monkey
I'd definately do with the Samsung. More vibrant colors and deeper blacks. I'm basing this on the experience from owning one of their LCD TVs (hooked up to an Xbox 360). It's just simply higher quality. - in3eez
When looking for a gaming monitor there is one thing I know to look: Response time. Looks for a monitor which has the lowest response time like 2m/s. A response time is the time it take to change the screen from one blakc and white frame to another. A faster 2m/s response time will eliminate the ghostly effect with cheap monitors when gaming and watching movies. Samsung offers great monitors and I use my 19''BW Samsung to game and it is superb. 2000:1 contrast and 2m/s, perfect for gaming. - Russ K
any dell or Samsung monitor will do nicely. I have a alienware m15x laptop and I have a samsung as a second monitor its very nice. but its not that one but both 2 good monitors - Photoshop God
