Question and Answers

Me My Printer? - Me I have a Epson Stylus C64 and it says "Parts inside your printer are near the end of their service life. See your printer documentation." What should I do?
Best Answer: Hi, This message does not indicate that you have an old printer nor that it is an indication that you need to update your printer drivers. Parts inside your printer refers to the ink-cartridges. If you did not print anything or used a ink-cartridge for longer than 6 months Epson is recommending to replace these ink-cartridges even that it is not indicating the they are low on ink. Please read your documentation for more information http://files.support.epson.com/htmldocs/sc64__/sc64__ug/wwhelp/wwhimpl/js/html/wwhelp.htm My advise; If your prints are still looking good and you are happy with it, ignore the message and keep printing until ink-cartridges are really empty. -R. - Redboy
This could refer to the ink waste tank beneath all inkjets which collect excess ink. If this is full, it is a major deal to correct and you are best off getting a new printer. Right now the cx8400 scanner/copier/printer is on sale at circuit city for $60 including shipping. You can find good cartridges for CX8400 for under $5 at http://ccs-digital.com/ink.asp (and about $2 for the C64, should it continue working). - yisgood
