what brand of laptop is the best? - Beverly Girls R Greatest 1- HP 2- Gateway 3- Sony Dont recommend DELL or COMPAQ or TOSHIBA, cause they are garbage... especially toshiba is garbage, i've had 3 of them, they break real fast

I didn't like Compaq's Presario laptops either... but you do realize HP and Compaq are the same company now? Of the 3 brands you listed, HP is the best choice. Toshiba DOES make great laptops, they have a better reputation within the industry than any of those 3- our company has used them for years and had fewer problems than any other brands (IBM, Sony, Compaq, Dell etc) Sorry you had bad luck with them. - Proto

i know gateway BLOWS! why isnt Apple in one of your choices? I purchased an apple macbook pro last summer for college and i love it! it is great for uploading photos, movies, etc. i jsut love everything about it over windows. ya it was hard to learn the mac format over windows but in the end it was totally worth it - Lupita06
