Its a Realtek AC97 Audio Second, my old cd and dvd drives are perfectly ok, but I dont have any cd to install driver, the computer came with them installed already, do I need drivers for them to work? can I get them online, or do I need to buy new drives, or can I copy the drives onto an iPod as a usb of some sort and install? Also, same thing with my sound card, where can i get drivers? Thanks for your help
Best Answer: It is sad that EVGA made such a good motherboard with such bad onboard sound. AC97 is just that, top of the line in 1997... Go with your sound card, you should be able to get the drivers from the manufacture's website of your sound card... Do not pay more than $550 for this rig, it is getting rather old for what it is. - Mark N
You can most likely replace the motherboards on board audio with your current sound card but I wouldn't recommend it, just stick with the built in 7.1 channel audio on the motherboard. You should only need to put your current sound card in if you have problems with the built in audio or like the old one better for some reason. All drivers will be included with the motherboard but if you want to look for the latest updated drivers go to the motherboard manufacturer's website: http://www.evga.com/support/drivers/ - RichlyCrispy
everything you mentioned already has the drivers built into the computer, no extra drivers are needed, and you already have enough ram (4 gigs) is really good - RJ
Kick in another gig of ram, its worth it. - pa2ad0x
First two questions: Drivers for the soundcard will be provided, no need. Also the cd-drive is auto installed...Nothing needed. Besides the iPod requires iTunes I think to install @ first. - rot_natalicw
