compcrasher86 Cant install network printer in Vista? - compcrasher86 Hi the printer is a Canon Faxphone L80 connected via USB to a Dell downstairs running Windows XP Home. I have been able to successfully connect every other computer to it but mine. When I try and install the network printer on my 64-bit laptop, it says that my operating system wasnt made for the driver. I downloaded the latest vista driver from the canon website so I imagine its because my laptop is 64 bit. I am on wifi so is there any way I can work around this so I can print from my laptop to the networked printer that is attached to the dell?
Best Answer: The only Vista Drivers on Canon's website is for the 32-bit version of Vista not the 64 bit. Without the drivers you can not communicate with the printer. Did you check Vista itself for printer drivers? You may have to buy a printer that specifically is written for Vista 64 bit and attach it to this computer. - bljzzgrl
