fillmein Which HDMI Cable should I get? - fillmein Hi guys, I have an HDMI cable which is from the company AUVIO and it is a High-Speed HDMI cable which transmits sound and video from laptop to the TV. It is kinda expensive and I was wondering if I could return it and get a cheaper one at another store. I found this one from a store and it is IOGear 6.5ft (2m) mini-HDMI 1.3v Series 2000 Cable. Now this has double the length of the cable that i currently own at half the price. but i dont know if the quality will be the same. i dont know what this mini thing in the name means and if it will be compatible with my laptop and tv. The other cable that i am also looking into is Inland u-Jam HDMI Gold Cable. My question is that if anyone has experience with either one of these two cables can they please tell me how they work and if they are compatible with laptops and hdtv. additionally, i want to ask that is it worth it if i return this other cable and get one of the other two. I dont want to compromise the quality or the video or the sound. please give sincere input on this. thanks :)
Best Answer: I buy all my HDMI cables on ebay for less than $5 including shipping. Never had a problem with any of them. Since HDMI is a digital signal, either the cable works or it doesn't. There is no such thing as an HDMI cable that works better than another HDMI cable. - CC
I suggest... Mediabridge - 6ft Ultra-High Speed HDMI Cable - 120 Hz http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0019EHU8G?ie=UTF8&tag=yahanswer-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B0019EHU8G - Thomas
All HDMI cables are the same, no matter what the specifications say. There are HDMI cables that sell for over $100, but they will give you the same audio and video quality as an HDMI cable for $5. Most of the time, consumers only pay for the brand name. - Tech Dude
ok mini hdmi is different if you have a regular hdmi then it wont work and a hdmi cable is all the same its when you go long then u need to worry about spending alot but for lets say a 10ft cable or less its the same between a $5 dollar cable and a $100 one its pointless - Jacob R
I got mine from http://cabletrain.com for about 6 dollars with shipping and it works as good as any expensive cable. The cable is built very good as well. So just go with the lowest prices with HDMI cables. - Joey
Bad cables do exist, but virtually all 6' HDMI cables will perform identically. I bought mine on monoprice.com because they're inexpensive and durable. - Peter D
If you are projecting at 1080p or 1080i it is already at a pixel rate that is higher than what your eyes can already see. Basically your tv will project better than what your eyes can receive. HDMI is HDMI thats it. A digital format of video and audio information. One cable is most likely more expensive cause it is more durable and what not. Your quality wont go down, and if it does it is in your head. Or its the video itself. not the cable
