Best Answer: According to the user manual for that NEC monitor, it is HDCP-compliant, so it should be able to play back Blu-Ray discs in high-definition. http://www.necdisplay.com/cms/documents/UserManuals/LCD2690WUXiBK_UserManual.pdf Just keep in mind you must manually enable HDCP in the monitor's OSD menus (look in the manual on how to do that), and that you must have an HDCP-compliant video card as well. Yes but you need a blu ray drive in the pc tower, and the movie will be a little stretched or letter boxed based on its resolution, most monitors are 16:10 while most tvs are 16:9. - Kram

the max resolution the monitor can handle is nice enough to see the FULL effect of Blu-Ray... you need to make sure your computer and graphics card can handle it though. - Tekky
