Question and Answers

mchr1767 Need help with home/computer audio!?!?!? - mchr1767 ok so i want to get a PSU or power supply so that i can hook up my car amp in with my house stereo it is a 1440 watt max amp (Power Acoustik TS1440-2), how many watt power supply do i need to get for it to work? would a 413 watt work for it?
Best Answer: 1440 watts is peak power, a meaningless measure. The RMS rating of 350 watts/channel is more realistic, but you'll never come close to that without blowing out your speakers (and eardrums). A 400 watt power supply is more than enough, a 60 watt from Radio Shack will work fine unless you have huge and inefficient speakers. - Bytefield
