Question and Answers

ew.wood Is it possible to go from a CAT3 connection to a CAT5 connection? - ew.wood I have an HP Jornada 720, which has a modem CAT3 slot (I know it is called RJ-something, right?). I want to know if it is possible to hook a telephone wire cord to the machine, run through an adapter, and connect to my router? I know, somewhere, I have these adapters that came with a DSL hook-up and I was just wondering if this is at all feasible?
Best Answer: That is an RJ-11 modem slot and can only be connected to a dial-up telephone line. Depending on what you are trying to do, you can use the Jornada modem to make a dial-up connection to a modem in one of your desktop computers, or you can purchase a compatible PC Card Network Adapter. -
NO!!! if it is... then they already violated the standards of ISO... - niwa_kun
