LaW Blackberry Curve 8900 GPS without data plan? - LaW Is it possible to get a GPS software with no data plan. my old phone blackjack2 can have garmin mobile xt without the use of a data plan due to internal gps. But that doesnt work for blackberrys. Is there a way to get GPS like that on this phone?

You can connect to internet via your browser, if you are connected to wi fi through your or any router. You may be able to download the google maps as well. The gps is a part of the your hardware. You need to have functional maping software to utilize and benefit from the gps's functionality. Short answer to your question is You cannot use GPS without data plan. The problem with the blackberry is that it does not allow any application which can connect to internet, to open, if you do not have a data plan. These could be mapping software or your IMs, like yahoo or widows live or Google talk. - Bakhtawer B
